Upcoming Safety Drill
Parents,
As you know, Treynor Community Schools strives to provide a safe and secure environment for all students. An important part of Treynor’s safety plan is practicing our plan through drills. Drills allow staff and students to become familiar with procedures and they also allow safety team members to adjust and improve upon plans as needed.
We will have Lockdown, Hold, and Secure drills on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Please plan accordingly as our schools will be locked during this time and students will not be able to exit our schools, nor will people be allowed to enter the schools. If you have a conflicting appointment please make arrangements to have your student signed out well in advance of the 1:00 p.m. drill time.
The three procedures that will be practiced on the 6th are three of five procedures as part of our Standard Response Protocol. All five of these procedures can be found in the link below with a little more information about each one of the procedures, which includes the expectations for students and staff. Our safety first overview article is also linked below for more information.
Treynor Emergency Response - English
Treynor Emergency Response - Spanish
Lastly, these drills not only provide a time for students and staff to practice portions of our safety plan, it also serves as a time for you to check the accuracy of the contact information you have entered into JMC. This information is used for general notices as well as schedule changes due to inclement weather. Log into JMC Parent Access and click on “Contact Information” from the left-hand menu. Add or edit email addresses and phone numbers to which notifications should be sent. In the Message Service box next to each phone number, select the type of notice to receive, which can include and or all of the following:
- SMS/Text Message is for cell phone text messages.
- Emergency/Weather Related would be messages like late starts, early dismissals, no school, etc.
- Student Related would be academic or sport notices (i.e. practice canceled, excessive tardiness/absences).
- General School Information would be reminder messages related to conferences, registration, etc.
When finished making any contact information changes, be sure to click “save”.
Please also add the email address of tcsd@onlinejmc.com and the phone number of 833-591-1607 to your phone's contact database, so these messages do not go to spam. (NOTE: If you have previously opted out of the text messages by replying stop to those messages, you can resubscribe by texting the word START to 833-591-1607).
Thank you for your support in helping us make our schools safe for our students and staff.
Respectfully,
Treynor Administration
