MAKE NOTE: 12:30 Dismissal on Wednesday, March 20th Treynor will host the 2024 Western Iowa Conference Quiz Bowl competition. This event requires classroom space and all MS/HS teachers to make the event run smoothly and in a timely manner. We are proud to host conference events and we look forward to providing students across the conference a venue to showcase their hard work.
The annual Pops Concert is going Back to the 80s this year. Come join the music department on March 21 for fun performances by our Junior High and High School musicians. The Music Boosters will be serving a meal starting at 5:00, with music beginning at 5:30. Limited reserved seating is available - Table for 8 - $250, Single Chair $25 (no table). Preschool Program applications are now being accepted through Friday, March 15th. Applications received after March 15th will be considered if any spaces remain unfilled. Click on this link to fill out the application. (All applications from both resident and non-resident students that are submitted on or before March 15th will be considered for enrollment using a priority and weighted enrollment system.) Paper copies will also be available upon request.
Kindergarten Round-Up is scheduled for April 12, 2024. If you would like to register your child, please fill out the information on this form. By registering, you will receive information regarding this event and the upcoming 2024-25 school year.

The MS Dance, "Jersey Jam" is scheduled for Friday, March 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Middle School Commons. The cost is $3 per person and snacks/drinks will be available for $1 each. Wear your favorite jersey. This dance is sponsored by the Middle School Student Council.
Business Partners Needed! Our Academic Success Advisor & Career Coach, Mrs. Jenny Berens, is seeking partners for students to help guide their career path. This might include presenting to student groups about your job during career days, business site visits, job shadow, or even internships and/or apprenticeships. We are looking for these partners in all fields. If you or someone you know is interested, please reach out to Mrs. Berens at jberens@treynorcardinals.org.
Register for your Council Bluffs Public Library Card here. Middle School students were paid a visit from the CBPL teen librarian this week and were presented with the benefits of having a library card with CB Public Library. This will allow students to check out books both digitally and in person. Side note: All residents of Treynor are able to get a CBPL card for free based on the City’s agreement with the library.
The 2024 Charles E. Lakin Outstanding Teacher Award nominations are now open. Nominate an educator who encourages and inspires students to learn. Each winner will receive $10,000, with an additional $2,500 given to their school. Nominations are open until March 29. Nominate here.
COMMUNITY NEWS
The 7th annual Treynor alumni basketball tournament will be held Saturday, March 16th in the West gym. Alumni of Treynor including Seniors from this year along with anyone currently associated with the school district (employed, kids attend, live in district, etc) are eligible to play. There will be divisions for men and women. Teams are guaranteed 3 games and the games are halfcourt 3 on 3 with substitutes on each team. Registration is $20 per player. Players will be divided up as evenly as possible and placed on teams. If interested please contact Jordan Campbell at 712-310-1835. The Tip-Off Event for the alumni tournament will be Friday, March 15th from 5:30pm-7pm in the West Gym. All ages are welcome to attend and compete in a 3 point contest, knockout, and hot shot challenge. An after party at Silos starts at 7pm with pizza, fries, and drink provided in the party room. There will be a DC trip parent meeting on March 18th in the middle school cafeteria to go over details of the Washington DC trip that is scheduled for June 9th-12th, 2025. This meeting is for parents that have students in the class of 2029 and 2030. Flyers will be going home with students soon. Father-Daughter Dance Sponsored by Treynor Farmer’s Market is coming up on March 23, 2024. The Grand March will take place at 5:00 p.m. with the dance to follow until 7:30 p.m. This is for daughters 3 years old-8th grade. Check out the flier for more details.
JTW Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for Sunday, March 24th at the Palace Barn Event Center at 1:00 p.m.

Bus Transportation is for students that have been assigned a bus through the transportation department and routinely ride to and/or from school. For bus management and student safety, students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus.
Important links for calendars & events:
- Academic Calendar for other early dismissals and no-school days. Keep in mind that every Wednesday is a 2:00 dismissal for Teacher In-Service.
- Breakfast & Lunch Menus (note: elementary and MS/HS menus are separate).
- Activities Calendar (Treynor CSD, like many other area schools, have switched to Bound for their activities calendar).
- Go to Treynor's GoBound Ticket Page to pre-purchase your game-day event tickets. While entry gates will have card readers available, pre-purchasing your digital tickets will speed up the process.
The speed limit in the school zone on Highway 92 is 25 mph during times when the lights are flashing. The school zone is highlighted in red below. These lights flash in the morning from 7:40 - 8:20 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3:20-3:50 p.m. (1:50-2:20 p.m. on 2:00 p.m. dismissal days).
