Anonymous Reporting

Treynor CSD offers students, parents and staff the ability to anonymously report threats to self or others using three tools: Safe & Sound Iowa, SpeakUp and/or CrisisGo.

  • Safe and Sound Iowa is an anonymous tool, which is monitored 24/7 by trained dispatchers in Iowa who will immediately engage in two-way communication with those raising concerns.
  • SpeakUp is an anonymous reporting tool specifically designed for Pottawattamie County. All reports are reviewed by the County Threat Assessment Team. This tool is not monitored 24/7.
  • CrisisGo is an anonymous reporting tool that is monitored by school administrators.

Why use any of the reporting tools? In past school attacks in the United States, 92% of those who noticed concerning behaviors before the events were schoolmates. Students may not report warning signs due to feelings of anxiety or intimidation, fear of retaliation or not knowing who to talk to. Anonymous reporting removes these barriers with easy, convenient and confidential ways to report safety concerns.  Continue reading below to learn more about each of the 3 ARS options.

Safe and Sound Iowa
Safe & Sound Iowa reports can be made securely and anonymously:

Trained dispatchers monitor reports 24/7 and immediately engage in two-way communication with those raising concerns. They then reach out to the appropriate local school safety contact, law enforcement or other community partners.

SpeakUp
Speak Up is an anonymous and confidential reporting tool recently released in Pottawattamie County that allows residents to report concerns about direct threats, concerning behaviors, suspicious activity, or significant changes in behavior.

Reporting is easy and completely anonymous. Submit a report with as much detail as possible. You can include photos, videos, or any supporting evidence. Your identity will remain anonymous unless you choose to provide your contact information for follow-up.

All reports are reviewed by the Threat Assessment Team which includes the Council Bluffs Police Department, Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office, community school districts including Council Bluffs, Lewis Central, AHST-W, Riverside, Treynor, Tri-Center, and Underwood, plus  Heartland Christian, St. Albert, Iowa School for the Deaf, and Iowa Western Community College. Other organizations include Heartland Family Service, SWI Mental Health and Disability Services, Iowa 4th Judicial District, Carter Lake Police, and Iowa Law Enforcement Intelligence Network.

CrisisGo
CrisisGo covers every step, from preparedness to recovery, with easy-to-use applications, devices and integrations for every role and scenario for schools. Treynor CSD has been using CrisisGo for drill and crisis management with staff for over 5 years.

The CrisisGo application offers the ability for administrators to field bully, suicide or other reports, which can be done anonymously if the user selects to hide their contact information with the submission.
