BB-SB Spectator Letter

Updated 6/18/2020

Treynor Baseball and Softball Fans and Spectators:

Iowa is the first state in the country to resume competitive high school sports this summer. The entire country is watching Iowa. Therefore, it is imperative that we successfully navigate competitive team sports during the pandemic.  Like many local stores and businesses, we must adapt to COVID-19 mitigation strategies that all schools need to implement.  Below is a list of these mitigation strategies and regulations that all spectators must follow:

  • If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been around someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please do not attend.
  • SOCIAL DISTANCING IS REQUIRED: 6 feet between households.
  • Bleacher seating will be limited. Please bring your own chairs and spread out.
  • Children must remain with their parents/families.
  • No concessions will be available. School-appropriate food and drinks permitted. Please clean your area after the game.
  • Please remember that tobacco, alcohol and pets are prohibited on school property.
  • No sunflower seeds are to be consumed during games.
  • Restrooms will be available (limited to one person at a time).
  • Admission: $5 for adults, students and children free

Regardless of the requirements, we ask that you remain respectful and compliant when you visit our school as well as other area schools. Every school has the authority to create their own fan expectations, so things may be different than at Treynor. The school administrators and coaches who develop these strategies are doing their best and working hard to keep everyone safe.  Please help us keep everyone safe and healthy!

We are fortunate to have an opportunity to play baseball and softball this summer, and we are thankful that fans can attend the games. Let’s show the rest of the country that this can be done safely!
