Retirement Ceremony Held on May 26th
A retirement reception was held on May 26th in the afternoon for retiring teachers as well as teachers that are leaving the district. Time was also spent handing out service awards to staff members.
Retirees include 6th Grade Teacher Tami King, 3rd Grade Teacher Suzanne Halterman and MS/HS Custodian and Bus Driver, Ron Lockwood.Those retiring were given a commemorative clock while staff leaving the district for other opportunities were given a commenorative candy dish and candy. Staff leaving the district for other opportunities include Elementary Principal Tim Larsen, 4th Grade Teacher Nigel Horton, Elementary Art Teacher Marla Schoening, MS/HS Social Studies & Coach Steve Owens and MS Reading Stephanie Fholer. Mr. Larsen will be taking a job in Human Resources at TSBank, Mr. Horton will be the Principal at Griswold Elementary School next year, Mrs. Schoening will be a high school 3D Art Teacher at Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln High School, Coach Owens will be teaching in Plattsmouth, and Mrs. Fholer will be staying at home with her new baby.
Staff receiving service awards included Shelly Bailey & Scott Rucker - 10 years; Shantelle Vohs & Reesa Waymaster - 15 years; Janet Gatlin - 20 years; and JoEllen Travis, Jan Kenkel & Kyle Rogers - 25 years.
