Treynor Community School District Celebrates Exemplary Performance on 2025 Iowa School Performance Profile

We are thrilled to announce its outstanding results on the 2025 Iowa School Performance Profile, with all three schools earning top-tier rankings. The district's elementary and middle schools were both rated "High Performing," while Treynor High School achieved the prestigious "Exceptional" ranking.  Our elementary school and middle school have each had five or more consecutive years with “High Performing” ranking and our high school has been ranked the second highest high school in the state two years in a row.

This achievement reflects the collective dedication and hard work of our students, staff, families, and community. The results are a powerful testament to the district's c

commitment to academic excellence and creating a supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. We're incredibly proud of our high school for earning the highest possible rating, and our elementary and middle schools for their continued strong performance.

The Iowa School Performance Profile is an online tool developed by the Iowa Department of Education to provide a comprehensive overview of how public schools across the state are performing. The ratings are based on a set of accountability measures required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and state law.

The profile uses a variety of metrics to evaluate school performance, including:

  • Student Proficiency: Measures student achievement in reading, mathematics, and science based on the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP).
  • Student Growth: Gauges the academic growth of students over the course of a school year, regardless of their starting proficiency level.
  • Chronic Absenteeism: Tracks the percentage of students who miss 10% or more of the school year.
  • Graduation Rate (High School): The percentage of students who graduate from high school within four or five years.
  • Postsecondary Readiness (High School): Measures a high school's success in preparing students for life after graduation, including indicators like college credit earned and participation in work-based learning.

The Iowa School Performance Profile assigns one of six ratings to each school. These ratings reflect a school's overall score, which is a composite of the various performance measures. The six ranking categories are:

  • Exceptional: 78.25% and above
  • High Performing: 69.60% - 78.24%
  • Commendable: 60.95% - 69.59%
  • Acceptable: 52.30% - 60.94%
  • Needs Improvement: 42.37% - 52.29%
  • Priority/Comprehensive: 42.36% and below

Treynor Community School District is proud to be among the select schools in the state and area by achieving these top-tier rankings. This success underscores our commitment to providing every student with a rigorous and well-rounded education, preparing them for a successful future.
