Board Names Dr. Joel Beyenhof as Next Superintendent
TREYNOR, IA — The Treynor Community School District School Board has named Dr. Joel Beyenhof as the district’s next superintendent.
Dr. Beyenhof is the current principal of Lewis Central High School, a position he has held since 2012. His leadership of the school has included creating a vision of academic success for all students, managing the school’s budget, prioritizing student achievement, leading professional development, and engaging in community outreach.
Previously, Dr. Beyenhof was a middle school principal in the Council Bluffs Community School District. He also has experience as an assistant principal and activities director, and he began his career in education as a math teacher. He serves on the CHI Mercy Hospital Community Board and the board of Lewis Central TeamMates.
Dr. Beyenhof holds a doctorate degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He also received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Doane University and a master’s degree educational administration and supervision from UN Omaha. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Southwest State University.
The Board of Education worked with Grundmeyer Leader Services to conduct the search. The process included a community-wide survey, asking district residents to provide their input on the qualities and characteristics they would like to see in the district’s next leader. The board held interviews with the three finalists on May 2.

Dr. Beyenhof will officially begin serving as superintendent of the Treynor Community School District July 1, 2022.
