Mrs. Campbell Named to BVU Hall of Fame

Katie with her coach and presenter, Janet BerryBuena Vista University inducted four new members into their Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 16, 2017 during their halftime ceremonies of the BVU and Central College football game. The committee voted that Katie (Maguire) Campbell along with three other members and an entire team would make up the Class of 2017. The excerpt from the BVU Athletic Write-up states "Katie (Maguire) Campbell was a four-year starter on the BVU women's basketball team from 2002-06 and turned in an illustrious playing career. She was a four-time All-Iowa Conference selection, while being named the league's Most Valuable Player as both a junior and senior. She ranked fourth all-time in program history in scoring (1,724pts), first in career assists (578), first in three-point makes (238) and second in career steals (262). She was a two-time All-American by the WBCA, a three-time Academic All-IIAC performer and was voted a Third Team Academic All-American as a senior. She helped lead the Beavers to back-to-back IIAC Championships (2003-04 & 2004-05). Campbell graduated from BVU in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is married to BVU men's basketball alum, Jordan Campbell, and the two currently reside in Treynor, Iowa, as she serves as a Kindergarten teacher for the Treynor Community School District. They have four children, Dallin, Zoey, Toby and Landry."
Mrs. Campbell started her teaching career at Treynor Elementary in August of 2007 as a Kindergarten teacher. You will find her in that same classroom today teaching and influencing her young students.
