Girls Golf 2A Champs

5/31/17 ~ Congratulations to the Girls' Golf Team for winning the Class 2A Golf Championship today at Jester Park Golf Course. The two-day tournament was won by the Cardinals 47 strokes better than Emmetsburg. Individually, Senior Aly Anderson finished 2nd place, Junior Madelyn Deitchler finished 7th, Sophomore Kayla Chapman finished 15th and Senior Sierra Maguire finished 19th. Aly finished with an impressive 158 (78-80) and Madelyn scored a 172 (86-86). Kayla improved her score by 4 strokes today, shooting a total of 184 (94-90), while Sierra played consistently shooting a 186 (93-93). Other teammate scores included a 191 (92-99) for Senior Randi Robinson and a 199 for Senior McKenna Waffle (100-99). 

These girls have worked hard all year and their record this season is impressive. This State Championship is a crowning moment for the entire team! The team will be honored and celebrated between the JV and Varsity Softball games Tuesday. The JV game is scheduled to start at 5:30. Varsity is scheduled to start around 7:00. Come out and watch some softball and celebrate our champions!

5/22/17 - Congratulations to the girls golf team, crowned Class 2A Regional Champions today at Winterset Golf Course, earning a trip to state golf competition next week! The team posted a score of 359, outpacing second place by 47 strokes. Aly Anderson was Regional Champ, Madelyn Deitchler was runner-up, Chapman was 4th, Robinson and Waffle tied for 5th and Maguire was 8th. The girls will play a two-day tournament on Tuesday & Wednesday, May 30 and 31st at Jester Park Golf Course in Granger, Iowa. Tee times will be a shotgun start of 9:00 a.m. each day. 

5/15/17 ~ Congratulations to the girls for posting a record-setting team score of 314 and taking the top 6 individual spots to the Regional Final competition next Monday in Winterset. Today's competition was held at Quail Run in Neola. AHSTW was runner-up and will advance to the next round of play as well. Aly shot a 76 to earn individual medalist. Kayla was runner-up with a 78, Deitchler shot a 79, Sierra shot an 81, while McKenna and Randi also handled the lynx great bringing in an 83 and 86. Good luck the rest of this journey!

5/10/17 ~ The girls golf team hosted the Glenwood Rams at the TRA Tuesday and came away with the victory and a 167, a new team score record. Randi Robinson was medalist with a 41, while Aly was runner-up with a 41. Kayla shot a 42 and Deitchler a 43. The girls are showing their readiness for post-season with these scores. Keep rolling, Ladies!

5/9/17 ~ Tri-Center traveled to Treynor to compete Monday evening and the girls shot a 182 to Tri-Center's 215. Aly shot a 36, beating her record for the TRA and tying the school record. Deitchler was runner-up.

5/8/17 ~ Treynor hosted the Underwood Eagles Friday night at the TRA home course. Treynor girls scored a 186, besting Underwood by 52 strokes. aly was medalist with a 42, Kayla was runner-up with a 43. Randi shot a 48 and McKenna and Sierra shot a 53. Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association has the Treynor girls ranked #1 as of May 3rd. 

5/3/17 ~ Treynor Cardinal Girls' Golf Team are 4-time WIC Champions today with Aly Anderson being a 3-time WIC Individual Champion. Not only are they WIC Champs, each member of the golf team placed in the Top 7. Anderson was 1st with an 82, Waffle was 2nd with a 91, Deitchler was 3rd also with a 91, Chapman was 4th with a 95, Robinson was 5th with a 96 and Maguire was 7th. 5/3/17 ~ On the boys side at WIC, Jayden Anderson shot a 77 to win individual WIC Champion with the team scoring a total of 349 and placing fourth.  Jayden and Aly became the first brother-sister Individual Champions in the same year in WIC golf history.

5/2/17 ~ On a not-so-spring Monday afternoon, the Cardinals battled against the Logan Magnolia Panthers at the local TRA Golf Course. The girls had a 173 and Lo-MA had no team score. Aly was 1st with a 40, Randi was 2nd with a 43, Kayla was 3rd with a 43 and Deitchler was 4th with a 47.

4/26/17 ~ Treynor boys hosted St. Albert on Tuesday and won 188 to 216. Jayden Anderson shot a 42 to earn medalist honors. Jason Cox of Treynor was runner-up with a 46. Kendrick Umphreys shot a 49 and Jacob Keay scored a 51. 

4/25/17 ~ Treynor hosted Missouri Valley boys and girls on a very blustery day of golf at the TRA on Monday. Both Treynor teams battled the winds and came out on top. Girls won 179-258. Aly was medalist with a 43 and McKenna was runner-up with a 45. Randi scored a 45 as well, Sierra and Madelyn scored 46.  The boys won 192-213. Jayden Anderson was medalist with a 44 while Shawn Hatcher of Missouri Valley was runner-up with a 46. Other Treynor scores were Kendrick Umphreys 47, Justin Cox 50, Jason Cox 51, Griffen Kline 53, Kale Letuli 59.

4/22/17 ~ The boys and girls traveled to Griswold for some Friday afternoon golf. Girls had a school record 171 to beat Griswold's score of 215. Aly was medalist with a 38 and Kayla was runner-up with a 43. Randi also scored a 43 and Sierra scored a 47.  On the boys side, Griswold came away with the win by 3 strokes, 188 to Treynor's 191. Jason Cox was runner-up medalist with a 47. Other Treynor scores were Jayden Anderson 48, Kendrick Umphreys 48, Griffen Kline 48.

4/18/17 ~ The Cardinals hosted Audubon at the home course, Treynor Recreation Area, on Monday. The girls won 178 to 239. Aly took medalist honors with a 41, while Kayla had a 45 and Randi and McKenna both carded a 46. The boys were victorious as well, with a team score of 175, besting Audubon by 16 strokes. Jayden Anderson was medalist with a 39, while Jason Cox was 2nd with a 43. Both teams travel to Griswold Friday for their next meet.

4/11/17 ~ The girls played at Dodge Park Riverside in a City tournament on Monday and easily took first place with a team score of 187, shooting 19 strokes better than 2nd place Sioux City East & Shenandoah. Aly Anderson was medalist, shooting a 40. Kayla Chapman tied for 2nd with a 45. Later that afternoon, the boys and girls traveled to Avoca for their meet against AHSTW. The girls won that match as well with a team score of 188. Aly was 1st with a 45 and McKenna Waffle was 2nd with a 46. 

4/10/17 ~ The first golf meet of the season was held Friday, April 7, 2017 at Riverside's home course in Oakland. Both the boys and girls won against the Bulldogs. The Ladies scored 178, with Aly Anderson taking medalist with a 41. Randi Robinson was second with a 45, beating out Sierra Maguire's 45 by handicap hole. The rest of the team carded great scores: Kayla Chapman 47, Madelyn Deitchler 49 and McKenna Waffle 54. Reagan Darrah scored a 58, her personal best.

For the boys, Jayden Anderson was medalist with a 39 and Jason Cox scored a 40 contributing to a team score of 170, beating their opponents by 36 strokes. Other boys' scores were Griffen Kline 45, Kendrick Umphreys 46, Justin Cox 53 and Kale Letuli 54.

The girls play in a 9-hole tournament Monday at Dodge Riverside Golf Course in Council Bluffs and both boys and girls travel to Avoca later Monday afternoon for their meet against AHSTW beginning at 4:00.
