Blanket Project Undertaken by JOI Club

On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, the JOI Club members made 20 tie blankets that will be distributed to New Visions and Open Door Mission. They were able to complete the making of these blankets in a little over an hour.  Club Treasurer, Norah Beekhuizen, took the time to shop for the material last weekend matching up base colors to patterns. Click on the picture slideshow to the right to see the students working hard making the blankets.

So far this year, the Club has helped at the Treynor Trunk or Treat, baked over 1,000 sugar cookies for Iowa Cookie Crumbs and helped at the JTW Community Christmas. They are also conducting a Toy Drive this month. In January, the students will help facilitate some BINGO fun at a local care facility and they plan to collect food during the "SOUPer Bowl" Food Drive in February.  They have many other projects for the spring as well, including a food service project with New Visions in March, Tree Mulching/Planting in April and Teacher/Nurse Appreciation in May.

This year's club is led by President Rachel Kinsella, Vice President Payton Chapman, Treasurer Norah Beekhuizen and Secretary Memphis Dunsdon.
