Homecoming 2020

Homecoming Court 2020: Back Row L-R: Duncan Clark, Noah James, Blake Sadr, Devin Vorthmann, Logan Young; Front Row L-R: Allison Brokman, Anna Halverson, Malloy Helvie, Haedyn Jorgenson, Livia White

Theme: Through the Decades - A History of Cardinal Dominance

Homecoming is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2020. As we continue to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are making changes to our homecoming festivities this year, specifically with our community pep rally and parade. There will also be spectator guideline changes for our last two home football games. Treynor will be playing the Underwood Eagles for our homecoming game.

The pep rally will be at the football complex at 1 p.m. and is open to the public. It will be live streamed for those that wish to watch online. All those attending will be expected to wear face coverings while entering, exiting and walking about the stadium. All middle school and high school staff and students will be seated in designated areas utilizing the grass areas around the perimeter of the football field. Our elementary staff and students will watch the pep rally in their classrooms this year.

School will dismiss at 2:00 p.m. Friday

Treynor Schools will not have the community-wide parade this year. We do not believe an event like this is in the best interest of our school community while trying to keep our staff and students safe. Our plan is to have a smaller parade that only involves a few high school student groups presenting to our elementary school. All of our high school students involved in this parade will be required to wear masks to keep everyone safe during the  parade and to be good role models.

High school students will take part in a contest between classes where points are given for hall decorations, class motto originality, float quality, percentage of students participating in dress up days and Friday morning activity results. Points will be awarded in each area as follows: 1st place 3 points, 2nd place 2nd points, 3rd place 1 point and 4th place 0 points. A group of community members will judge the floats, class mottos and halls. The results will be announced at the Pep Rally.

All high school students will vote for the king and queen on Wednesday, September 16th.

King & Queen will be crowned during half-time of the football game

Football Game Guidelines

There will be a few guideline changes for our next two home football games. We will still allow all those that wish to attend the ability to do so, but also know that these games will be live streamed if you prefer to watch from home. All those attending will be expected to wear face coverings while entering, exiting, and walking about the stadium. Limited seating is available in the bleachers and the mezzanine level. We recommend spectators bring chairs/blankets to sit in designated areas around the track and on the hillsides surrounding the field. All K-8 students who attend are required to sit with their families. High school students who choose to sit together must sit in the designated student section where masks will be required.

The Treynor Community School administration will continue to monitor, update, and communicate our information and procedures to keep everyone as safe as possible. We greatly appreciate our community and thank you, in advance, for your support and understanding. Please know the district may need to take further precautions if the above stated guidelines are not followed. These precautions may include limiting the number of spectators at all events.

There will not be a Homecoming Dance this year
