Treynor Volleyball Gives Big to Side-Out Foundation
In 2012, Iowa high school volleyball teams were ranked #13 in the country for their Dig Pink® fundraising! They raised a total of $21,410 for The Side-Out Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for breast cancer research through the sport of volleyball. When student athletes share their limited free time with others in order to make a difference in the lives of those around them, it is not only impressive, it is inspiring, and we wanted to share this accomplishment with you.
2012 Iowa high school Dig Pink fundraising teams include:
Treynor High School — $9,002.00
Dallas-Center Grimes Community High School — $5,353.92
Johnston High School — $4,030.00
Grinnell High School — $1,448.80
Saint Albert Jr/Sr High School — $75
Middle schools, high schools and colleges nationwide raised a total of over $1.1 million for Side-Out's Dig Pink initiatives in 2012 (and the funds continue to come in)! In addition, ten students were recognized with scholarship and/or community service awards through the Side-Out Ambassador Program, one of whom is from Iowa (Sarah Klahn, a student at Creighton University who hosted the event at her former high school, Treynor High School in Treynor, IA)!
We look forward to another wonderful year in 2013!
