Jazz Band Earns District Champ Title

For the 20th straight year, the Treynor Jazz Band, under the direction of Mr. Jeff Schoening, earned the title of District Champions.  Treynor beat out Clarinda at Class 2A District competition on February 23rd, earning another trip to the Iowa Jazz Championships in Des Moines on April 10th. Alec Schoening won the overall soloist award for Class 2A and Trevor Pavlik earned the Dick Bauman scholarship, competing against others who had applied with the intention of continuing music in college.  Many other Treynor musicians earned musicianship awards. Great job, Jazz Band, on another successful year.  Good luck at IJC!
