2/17/17 - Tonight's regional semi-final action against Underwood put another mark in the win column for the Cardinals. The girls pulled ahead quickly in the first quarter and never looked back. Konnor led the team with 14, Madelyn had 13 and Kayla had 12, all contributing to the 68-31 win over the Eagles. Treynor will face West Sioux on Monday in Regional Finals at Ida Grove. Game time will be 7:00 p.m.
2/15/17 - Treynor girls basketball continues their journey down the tournament trail with a 77-25 win over West Monona Tuesday night. This win advances them to the Semi-Final round where the Cardinals will play against WIC foe Underwood. Underwood defeated St. Albert Tuesday night 59-57. Friday night's 7:00 p.m. game will be at Treynor.
2/7/17 - These girls are amazing! 21-0 is their record now, with 4 more wins this last week. They defeated Logan Magnolia 68-55 on the 31st and Griswold 75-39 on the 2nd. Play against Missouri Valley at home on the 3rd resulted in a 64-28 victory, and the game against AHSTW Vikings on the 6th gave them win #21. Madelyn Deitchler leads with average points per game of 16.3, with Konnor Sudmann at 14.2, Abby Tiarks at11.7 and Randi Robinson and Kayla Chapman right around 8 points per game. Abby Tiarks leads the team with defensive rebounds, followed closely by Randi Robinson. Madelyn Deitchler is providing strength under the basket with offensive rebounds as well.The team plays their final regular season game on February 7th at Riverside. They are coached by Gail Hartigan, who recently celebrated Win #700 and was inducted into KMA's Hall of Fame on Friday, February 3rd.
1/30/17 - The girls move the needle up to 17 wins after Saturday's home game against Audubon. The girls defeated Tri-Center Friday night at the Trojan's gym 73-27. The Cardinals have a very busy week ahead with all home games this week. They will face Logan-Magnolia on Tuesday, January 31st, Griswold on Thursday, February 2nd and Missouri Valley on Friday, February 3rd. 1/23/17 - The girls remain undefeated today, with 2 victories Friday & Saturday. Friday night action at Underwood resulted in a 60-37 win and Saturday's game at home against Bishop Heelan (Sioux City) ended with a 76-62 victory. The Treynor/Underwood game stats include Konnor with 20 points, Abby with 14, Madelyn with 13, Sydney with 6, Randi with 4, Tori with 2 and Noel with 1. Abby racked up 15 rebounds while teammate Randi added 9. The Treynor/Bishop Heelan game stats include Madalyn with 27 points, Konnor with 22, and Abby with 18. 1/18/17 - Ice Storm Jupiter rolled into Southwest Iowa, cancelling school and games this week, giving the girls an unexpected break. The girls' team is still undefeated, enjoying a 55-22 win over Riverside on Tuesday, January 10th and a 61-51 win over IKM-Manning on Friday, January 13th. The AHSTW game that was postponed has been rescheduled for Monday, February 6th at home. This Friday, January 20th, the team will travel to Underwood for Western Iowa Conference action against the Eagles.
1/9/17 - Friday night play at Missouri Valley ended with a 66-23 win over the Lady Reds. Many girls saw the floor and scoring was led by Abby Tiarks with 17, Madelyn Deitchler with 13, Randi Robinson with 11, Konnor Sudmann with 9 and Kayla with 6. Sydney Carman & Faith Juelsgaard each chipped in two and Kennedy Elwood added 3. Next game will be at home against Riverside on Tuesday, January 10th.
1/7/17 - The girls remain undefeated in their season, rolling to a victory Tuesday night, January 3rd, at home against Tri-Center. The final score was 68-29, with Kayla Chapman scoring 17 and Konnor Sudmann adding a game-high 23 points. Next up is The Big Reds on Friday in Missouri Valley.
12/19/16 - The team traveled to Audubon on Tuesday, December 13th and handled the Wheelers easily with a 74-30 win. The girls had a rest from competition for the remainder of the week and will play against Logan Magnolia at the Panther's gym on Tuesday, December 20th. On Thursday, December 22nd, the team will travel and play in Griswold. Play will resume after Christmas break at home on Tuesday, January 3rd versus Tri-Center.
12/12/16 - The girls played chalked up two more wins to their record last week. On Tuesday, December 6th, they played away against the AHSTW. They handled the Vikings easily and cruised to a 71-28 win. At home on Friday night, the girls struggled the first half but came back and played a solid second half to defeat the Underwood Eagles 67-54. Treynor will travel to Audubon Tuesday night, December 13th for their next game.
12/5/16 - The girls played at home Friday night, December 2nd, against IKM-Manning and came away with a victory 49-34. Madelyn Deitchler led scoring with 24 points, followed by Konnor Sudmann's 15. Kayla Chapman had 7 steals, Abby Tiarks had 9 repounds and Randi Robinson had 3 blocks. Read the Nonpareil article for more coverage. 11/30/16 - The girls' basketball team is off to a fast start this week. On Monday, November 28th, the team played at home against Harlan and won 68-43. Read the Nonpareil's article for all the highlights of this game. The next evening, the team traveled to Red Oak and finished strong over the Tigers, 67-31. KMA has the highlights of this game in their article. The next game is at home on Friday, December 2nd against IKM-Manning. Be sure to come out and watch this fast-paced team.
