Red Ribbon Week 2018

Oct 22-26

Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated at Treynor School District October 22nd through 26th. Many will observe this week across the Nation. Observation of Red Ribbon Week will be conducted in all buildings, with each building having their own activities. The theme for the week is "Life is a Journey, Travel Drug Free". In the Elementary and Middle School, students are encouraged to dress up each day.

  • Monday:  "Shade Out Drugs" - Travel to the Beach (dress in beach clothes)

    • MS Students: wear beach clothes - swim trunks, shorts, tank tops, sunglasses, beach hats, flip flops -- NO FLOATATION DEVICES)

  • Tuesday:  "Plant a Promise to be Drug Free" - Travel to the Farm (dress in farm clothes)

  • Wednesday:  "Reach for the Stars-Be Drug Free" - Travel to Outer Space (Elem: dress in crazy clothes or clothes that are out of this world; MS-wear NEON)

  • Thursday:  "Color Me Drug Free" - Travel Over the Rainbow (dress in class colors)

    • Kindergarten-Purple

    • 1st grade-Blue

    • 2nd grade-Green

    • 3rd grade-Yellow

    • 4th grade-Orange

    • 5th grade-Red

    • 6th grade-Green

    • 7th grade-Blue

    • 8th grade-Red

  • Friday:  "Treynor, Iowa-The Place to be Drug Free"- Travel Home (wear red and white)

In the MS and HS, deputies from Pottawattamie County will be stopping by to give a drug-free announcement. Most of the deputies are Treynor Alumni. Students are encouraged to give them a warm welcome.
