Homecoming 2018 Information

Homecoming is Friday, September 14th with a "Video Game" theme and “Game On, Tigers” as the motto. Many activities are scheduled throughout the week, including the parade, community pep rally, combine, supper and game on Friday. And, to get you ready for the big day, the cheerleaders will be selling spirit items on Tuesday Sept. 11th and Thursday, Sept. 13th from 2:45-3:30 outside the Elementary School office. The entire week's schedule of events is listed below.

Sunday, September 9th
1:00-3:00 p.m.   High School hall decorating

Dress-Up Days (Elementary/Middle School/High School):
Monday-MS/HS:   Clash Day (Mismatched Clothing)
Monday-Elem:      PJ/Loungewear

Tuesday-ALL: USA Day

Wednesday-MS/HS:  Music Genre Day (Rock Star, Rapper, etc.)
Wednesday-Elem:     Color Wars (K-Purple; 1-Blue; 2-Green; 3-Yellow; 4-Orange; 5-Red)

Thursday-ALL:  Jersey Day

Friday-ALL:  Spirit Day (Red/White)

Hats or headwear (no masks) may be worn but must be part of the dress up theme for that day. Please be sure the way you dress follows the proper guidelines for modesty, morality and shows respect for others.


Friday, September 14th Schedule (some times are approximate)

8:25-1:00

During the morning hours, each building has their own schedule of events.

High School float committee students will work on class floats, while powder puff flag football will be played from 8:45-9:30 at football field. Powder buff volleyball will be played from 10-11:30 in the west gym.

High School students will be dismissed at 11:30 if a completed permission slip is returned with their parent/guardian's signature. Students shall promptly leave school grounds and not return until the pep rally. The permission slip will be emailed to each student and should be returned to student's Card Pride teacher. Students who do not return the permission slip are expected to stay at school until the school day is complete with lunch being served.

Lunch will be from 11:34-11:54 for 6th Grade Students in the MS Commons. 8th Graders and remaining HS students will eat in the HS Commons. 7th Grade students will eat lunch from 11:58-12:18 in the MS Commons. MS/HS lunch menu is chicken salad sandwich, WG chips, fruit and cookie.

MS Students will go to Card Pride rooms when not eating lunch and remaining HS students will remain in the HS Commons after lunch. At 12:40, students will be escorted to pep rally. 

Elementary lunch will be served as normal and students will leave at 12:35 to head to the Athletic Complex for the pep rally. Elementary lunch will be hot dog on bun, WG chips, carrots, apple slices and cookie. Parents are being asked to sit in the community section so elementary students can sit with their classmates & teachers.

Zion Church is grilling hamburgers, hot dogs and brats in their parking lot for a free-will donation.

Prepare for Parade* (Call 712-487-3181 X2 or email jberens@treynorcardinals.org to let us know you have an entry for the parade. Last-minute parade participants do not need to call or email. Line up on your own in the athletic complex south visitor parking lot. The parade will head north on Eyberg Avenue and proceed east on Main Street.  Parade floats will end up on Elementary Drive where students will be dismissed.  Once students are dropped off, floats may be stored behind the elementary, but need to be moved from Elementary Drive for bus pickup.  Floats that do not have elementary students may continue down Main Street to find a place to turn around.)

NFL Combine for K-5th Grade located at Athletic Complex. See the flyer for details.

MS CoEd Dodgeball Tournament. Middle School students who bring back a parent permission form by Tuesday, September 11th will be added to a CoEd team. The tournament will take place in the middle school and will be right after the parade and last until 5:00 p.m. If a student chooses to participate, he/she will need to remain at the school until 5:00 p.m., unless a parent has contacted the office. This is for safety reasons.

Homecoming Supper sponsored by the Athletic Booster Club and Class of 2022 in the HS Commons. Come have a BIG bowl of Chili or homemade soup or a Hot Dog & Chips meal for $5. See the flyer for details.

(Voting for candidates to take place Friday, September 7th by seniors. Voting for the King & Queen will be done by all HS students on Wednesday, September 12th)
 


If there is inclement weather the parade will be canceled and we will have school as usual with all students attending. We will run the 2:00 early dismissal bell schedule and the Pep Rally will be at 2:00 in the West Gym. Busses will run at the completion of the Pep Rally.

 

Saturday, September 15th:  

High School Homecoming Dance in the MS Commons. 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Cost is $3 per person.

*Students that leave the dance will not be allowed to return. If you have a date that is not a THS student, a
Visitor Permission Form must be on file before the end of the day on Thursday, September 13th. This form should be returned to the High School Office. Middle School students and individuals over the age of 20 are not allowed to attend THS dances.
