MS Quiz Bowl Update
Treynor B Team Places 1st
Two middle school teams traveled to Logan-Magnolia on Tuesday, March 28th. Our Treynor A Team consisted of Delaney Waterman, Hailee Poland, Melanie Terry, and Kaylee Dyke. Those ladies took fifth place at the Quiz Bowl. Our Treynor B Team consisted of Duncan Clark, Jonas Keay, Caden Waffle, and Corey Coleman. The boys won first place, bringing home a trophy! Miss Rommel and Mrs. Stogdill chaperoned and helped get the students prepared for this event.
Leading up to the event, there were nine teams (4 players each) who were interested in being part of this year's Quiz Bowl event. Because only two teams are allowed to compete, Treynor MS first held its own Quiz Bowl. On Tuesday, March 14th, we held the first round during Card Pride. All nine teams received the same written test, and they completed that in a designated CP room. The top four scores moved on to Round 2 which was held after school on March 16th. In Round 2, an actual Quiz Bowl with buzzers and timers was held. High school students, Alora Nowlin, Zach Mass, and Brendan Mass volunteered their time and expertise to help run the event.
