7th Grade Family and Consumer Science just finished a Hex in Semester 1 and they ended the week by making cookies in class. Long-term substitute teacher, Mrs. Showalter, captured some pictures (at right) of the students in the kitchen.
Hex units in Middle School are broken up into 6-week classes that always fall during 8th hour. Some of these classes are exploratory and some teach fundamentals. Hex course offerings for Semester 1 included Character Education 7 by Mrs. Palmquist, Study Skills 6 by Ms. Al-Khanfar, GTT Design & Modeling 7 by Mr. Nelson, Computers 8 by Ms. Anderson, FCS 7 by Mrs. Burton, Industrial Technology 8 by Mr. Schuler, Keyboarding 6 by Mrs. Davis, Art 8 by Mrs. Flaten.
Hex courses for Semester 2 will include Spanish 7 by Mrs. Palmquist, Financial Literacy 6 by Ms. Al-Khanfar, GTT 8 by Mr. Nelson, Google Drive 7 by Ms. Anderson, FCS 8 by Mrs. Burton, Industrial Tech 7 by Mr. Schuler, Music Appreciation 6 by Mrs. Davis, and Art 7 by Mrs. Flaten.
