Snow Days & Remote Learning

2/16/21: Today is "snow day #6", which is the first required remote learning day.  Emails were sent to parents by building principals. A summary of the emails are listed below.

  • Kindergarten through 3rd had remote learning packets sent home last week. Students are expected to complete the packet assigned and return it to school on Wednesday. Additional voluntary activities and lessons in Music, Art, PE, Counseling & Library/Technology can be found under the Treynor Elementary-E-Learning Tab
  • Fourth and Fifth grade teachers will post assignments to Google Classroom with teachers being available to answer questions at the times listed in Google Classroom. Additional voluntary activities and lessons in Music, Art, PE, Counseling & Library/Technology can be found under the Treynor Elementary-E-Learning Tab.
  • Sixth through 12th Grade students can find their assignments in each teacher's Google Classroom. This is required learning. Teacher availability for questions will be posted to their Google Classroom page.

2/9/21: Treynor Community School has used 4 snow days this year, and we are likely to have more. The original school calendar shows 4 additional days added to the end of the school year for snow days, tournament days, and other unforeseen cancellations. As of today (2-9-21), our last day of school will be Wednesday, May 26.  Additional snow days would be added to the end of the school year.  However, we are planning to avoid the addition of more snow days beyond Memorial Day weekend.  Therefore, we will have one more normal snow day (Snow Day #5), and then we will begin required remote learning for Snow Day #6.  This would mean our last day of school would be Thursday, May 27.  Again, the next cancelled day of school will be a normal snow day (Snow Day #5), and required remote learning will begin with Snow Day #6.  Principals and teachers will communicate with students about remote learning requirements and expectations.
