WIC Art Show Awards

Treynor High School student Sidney Brokman won "Best of Show" at the WIC Art Show that was held last week in Audubon, Iowa. She also won two Outstanding and a Teacher Choice Award at the exhibit.  Sidney is a senior at THS and her plans after high school is to attend University of Iowa and major in Art.  Her favorite medium is pencil and water color and she especially enjoys creating portraits. She has taken eight art classes throughout high school, with her favorite being Mixed Media. Sidney has won many other art awards, the most recent being Honorable Mention at the Omaha Fine Arts Gallery Area High School Art Exhibit earlier this year. Last school year, she had artwork selected for the Youth Art Show in Des Moines.  

Other award winners at the WIC Art Show included Katelyn Olson, Samuel Kaeding, Madison Weber (3), and Clarissa Weitzel (2) receiving Outstanding Work Awards and Krista Olson and Taylor Parker receiving Best of Show.  Honorable Mention winners included Samuel Kaeding, Sophie Showalter, Shailah Lowe, Molly Griffin, Jacob Lowe, Meaghan Cox (3), Krista Olson, Katelyn Olson, Madalyn Haas, Gehard Hansen (2), and Brock Fox. Elizabeth Nowlin also received a Teacher Choice Award.
