XC Runners Advance to State

10/29/18 - The weather was perfect and the runners from Treynor performed great at State Cross Country on Saturday. Two runners earned medals: Jerry Jorgensen finished 3rd and Tori Castle finished 9th. Jerry ended his cross country career as a four-time state medal winner. 10/19/18 - Congratulations to the cross-country runners yesterday on their performance at the State-Qualifying meet in Panora. The girls placed sixth and  the boys fifth. Advancing to the state meet next Saturday in Fort Dodge are Jerry who won the meet, Derrick who was fourth, Tori second and Noel seventh.Other boys' placings were Ryan 26th, Jacob Reelfs 41st, Jacob Keay 43rd, Max 52nd and Joey 54th.For the girls Claire was 37th, Megan 55th, Miranda 57th, Josie 58th and Sydney 59th.

10/12/18 - Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for winning the WIC Championship yesterday afternoon and to Jerry Jorgenson for winning the individual WIC Championship honor. The girls received an outstanding 4th place. From Coach Slice, "The boys won by a margin of just two points. Four runners were all-conference. For the girls Tori who was 5th and for the boys Jerry became a three time conference champion, Derrick was 3rd and Ryan 10th. Other placings for the girls were Noel 19th, Claire 23rd, Josie 32nd, Megan 33rd, Allison 36h, Miranda 39th, Sydney 49th, Jordan 56th and Emily 60th. For the boys Jacob Reelfs 17th, Jacob Keay 21st, Joey 27h, Jacob Hrasky 32nd, Isba 36th, Max 37th, Cainan 45th, Quinn 52nd, Brady 72nd and Gabe 74th. Jozie finished 3rd and Camille 10 for the junior high girls.  Mason was 3rd for the junior high boys, Ethan 4th, Tyson 9th, Ryder 10th, Steven 13th, Sam 15th, Ryan 8th, Tyler 21st, Miles 22nd, John 24th, Nate 26th, Jack 27th, Alan 28h, Corbin 33rd and Andrew 40th." Best of luck to the runners as they compete in the District/Regional Cross Country tournament next Thursday, October 18th, at Panorama West Golf Course in Panora, Iowa.

10/10/18 - Cross Country last competed in Atlantic on Thursday, October 4th where Jerry Jorgenson was the winner in the boy's race with a time of 16:10.08. Tori Castle finished 15th with a time of 20:01. Complete results are available here. WIC XC was postponed from Monday, 10/8/18 to Thursday, 10/11/18.

10/2/18 - Congratulations to the cross-country runners who participated at Wartburg on Saturday, September 29th. Seven of the 10 runners had personal bests.There were 33 teams and the boys finished 20th. For the boys, Jerry finished 4th in a field of 17 rated runners. Following Jerry were Ryan 107th, Max 162nd, Jacob Reelfs 165th, Joey 166th, Cainan 190th, Jacob Keay 196th and Brady Coffman 224h.  For the girls Sydney was 164th, Megan 171st and Josie 177th.

10/1/18 - Congratulations to the cross-country teams on their efforts at Shenandoah Thursday, September 27th. The junior high boys were 3rd, the JV boys 9th, the varsity girls 8th and the varsity boys 10th. For the junior high girls Jozie Lewis  was 17th, Allie Houser 31st and Camille Karr 34th. Mason Yochum led the JH boys in 16th followed by Ethan Konz 17th, Ryder Davidson 18th, Tyson McCain 23rd, Sam Burmeister 32nd, Ryan Bach 39th, Steven 42nd, John Ross 45th, Miles Nichols 63rd, Korbin Horton 71st, Alan Young 76th, Jack Carley 84th, Nate Peterson 92nd and Andrew Saar 115th.Jason Hrasky was 31st for the JV boys, Cainan Davidson 42nd, Quinn Navara 64th, Brady Coffman 88th and Gabe Travis 102nd.In the varsity girls' race Tori Castle was 4th, Claire Yochum 56th, Sydney Carman 67th, Allison Young 74th, Josie Davidson 79th and Megan Carley 92nd.Miranda Becker was 22nd for the JV girls followed by Jordan Finnegan in 43rd and Emily Morse 59th.For the varsity boys Derrick Thompson was 17th, Ryan Konz 53rd, Jacob Reelfs 76h, Isba Bernadez 82nd, Jacob Keay 84th, Joey Konz 86th and Max Hayes 87th.

9/24/18 - Congratulations to the cross-country on their great efforts at Harlan on Saturday. The junior high boys were 4th, the JV boys 6th, varsity boys 7th and varsity girls 9th. For the junior high girls Camille Karr was 21st, Jozie Lewis 28th and Allie Houser 40th. Ethan Konz led the junior high boys at 16th, Mason Yochum was 18th, Ryder Davidson 19th, Sam Burmeister 33rd, Tyler Reelfs 44th, Ryan Bach 45th, Steven Whitmore 55th, Miles Nichols 61st, Alan Young 75th, Corbin Horton 87th, Jack Carley 88th, John Ross 98th, Ty Jacobsen 102nd and Andrew Saar 122nd. In the JV boys' race Jacob Keay was 19th, Quinn Navara 27th, Cainan Davidson 40th, Jacob Hrasky 53rd and Brady Coffman 56th. Allison Young LC the JV girls in 25th, Miranda Becker 30th and Jordan Finnegan 56h. For the varsity boys, Jerry Jorgenson was the champion with Derrick Thompson 24th, Ryan Konz 37th, Jacob Reelfs 57th, Ibsa Bernadez 63rd, Joey Konz 64th, and Max Hayes 71st. Tori Castle led the varsity girls with a 10th place finish. Noel James was 40th, Megan Carley 55th, Sydney Carman 57th, Claire Yochum 58th and Josie Davidson 63rd. Thanks to all the students who came to cheer for the teams.

9/12/18 - Congratulations to the cross country teams last night on their excellence performances at AHSTW. The girls and boys both finished fourth, while the JH boys were champions. In the boys' race, Jerry Jorgenson was 1st, Derrick Thompson 9th, Ryan Konz 16th, Ibsa Bernadette 22nd, Joey Konz 29th, Jacob Reelfs 32nd and Jacob Keay 37th. For the JV Jacob Hrasky was 6th, Cainan Davidson 7th, Quinn Navara 9th and Brady Coffman 32nd. For the girls, Tori Castle was fourth, Claire Yochum 32nd, Sydney Carman 40th, Josie Davidson 41st, Megan Carley 49th, Allison Young 61st and Isabelle Kudron. Jordan Finnegan was 11th in the JV race and Emily Morse 19th.  

9/10/18 - After a week of soggy conditions, the cross country finally had a chance to compete locally at the Lewis Central invite held at Iowa Western Community College campus. Treynor had someone in the top 20 in all six races, which "I don't remember when that has happened at Treynor", as quoted by Coach Slice. The Varsity boys placed 7th, the JV boys were 4th and the Junior High boys were 3rd. Jerry Jorgenson led the boys with a first-place finish, followed by Derrick Thompson in 38th, Ryan Konz 44th, Max Hayes 46th, Joey Konz 51st, Quinn Navara 63rd and Jacob Keay 65th. Ibsa Bernardez led the JV boys with a 14th place finish, Jacob Reelfs was right behind in 15th, Jacob Hrasky in 22nd, Cainan Davidson in 34th, Brady Coffman 52nd and Gabe Travis 77th. In the girls race, Tori Castle was 7th, Megan Carley 51st, Josie Davidson 53rd and Isabelle Kudron 58th. JV girls were led by Claire Yochum in 17th and Jordan Finnegan in 45th.  Thank you to the students who came out and supported the teams!

8/26/18 - The Varsity Cross Country Team took part in the Early Bird Meet at Shenandoah on Tuesday, August 21. No team scores were kept, but there were many good individual performances, according to Coach Slice. For the boys, Jerry Jorgensen was 1st, Ryan Konz 14th, Derrick Thompson 16th, Jacob Keay 22nd, Max Hayes 24th, Joey Konz 34th, Quinn Navara 35th, Cainan Davidson 36th,  Jacob Reelfs 42nd, Jacob Hrasky 45h, Brady Coffman 54th and Gabe Travis 63rd. For the girls, Tori Castle was 2nd, Noel James was 9th, Josie Davidson 21st, Sydney Carman 23rd, Megan Carley 27th, Isabelle Kudron 31st, Allison Young 42nd, Jordan Finnegan 49th and Emily Morse 58th.
