7/18/18 - Treynor stopped Kuemper Catholic last evening for a repeat trip to State Baseball at Principal Park in Des Moines. The Cardinals scored 11 to Keumper's 3. This is the 7th trip to the state tournament, the 3rd in the last four years. Trevor Maeder has the complete details in his KMA Article, complete with video from Coach Mantell and Sophomore Drew Petersen. Connor Schuessler of the Daily Nonpareil has also written a detailed article about the game and state berth. Pairings have not been released from the state, but will be posted to the IAHSAA website when the brackets are complete.

7/15/18 - The boys are District Champs with a win over Underwood Saturday night in 2A District Finals at Underwood. They will face off against Kuemper Catholic in Harlan on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. for their chance to return to State. Read Derek Martin's article on the KMA Website for all the finer details of the Cardinals over Eagles triumph.

7/1/18 - In the last couple of weeks, the Cardinals have struggled a bit, losing 6 and winning 5. The resiliency of the team is sure to prevail though as they close out their regular season this week and head into post-season play next week. On Friday, June 15th, Treynor hosted Clear Lake and lost 0-2. The next day at home brought a 12-29 loss against a tough Winterset team. On Tuesday, June 26th, in first-round WIC tournament play, the Cardinals defeated the Wheelers 5-2. Brock scored 2, while Kyle, Dean and Drew added 1. Continuing on in the WIC Tournament, on June 27th, Treynor faced off against Tri-Center. The Trojans put on the pressure and came out on top 7-5. The Cardinals then went on to play in the WIC consolation round against AHSTW on Friday evening and lost 13-14.  This loss came after playing in Creston earlier in the day and losing that battle 13-15. In the Creston game, Kyle and Dean led with 3 runs each, while Justin, Nate, Kristian, Drew, Brock, Carter and Austin each scored 1. On Saturday, June 30th at a home tournament, the Cardinals defeated Sioux City West 5-4 and were on the second game of the tournament against Martensdale St Mary's when the game was called because of weather. At Van Meter on Monday, July 2nd, the team erased an early 8-3 deficit to go on to defeat the Bulldogs 11-8. Scoring the 11 runs were Will, Drew, Brenden and Austin with 2, and Justin, Kristian, Kyle with 1 each.

6/15/18 - Since the last writing, the varsity baseball team has played four more games. On Thursday, June 7th, they played Missouri Valley on their field and lost 2-10. Scoring was Justin and Will.
