2/27/18: The boys are headed to The Well next week for State Basketball! Treynor defeated Woodward Granger in dominant fashion last evening to earn a state trip. See the separate article for the boys here, which will be updated as information becomes available. Congratulations and good luck!
2/25/18: The girls' team is headed to state on Tuesday and will play West Sioux in first round quarterfinals. Game time is 6:45 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. A pep rally was held on Sunday to show support to the girls. A video was made by Ms. Anderson and her Multimedia class to show at the pep rally. View that video here. The boys' substate game was rescheduled from Saturday to Monday evening, 2/26/18. Game time at Harlan is 7 p.m. Treynor will play Woodward Granger for a chance to go to state next week. Go Cardinals!

2/12/18: The boys' team hosted 3A Atlantic at home on Friday night and won an exciting match-up 66-62. The Cardinals close out their regular season undefeated, 21-0. Seniors Luke Clausen and Dillon Faubel led team scoring with 31 and 24 respectively. Faubel reached 1000 career points during this game as well. The Cardinals will begin post-season play on Thursday at home. They will play the winner of this evening's game between Clarinda and Shenandoah. Thursday's game time is 8:00 p.m. Underwood vs. AHST/Red Oak will play at Treynor at 6:30 p.m. See the 2A District 16 bracket here.
2/2/18: Postseason pairings have been released for 1A and 2A. Treynor has earned a No. 1 seed in 2-A and will get a first-round bye. Cardinals will play at home against the winner of the February 12th Clarinda/Shenandoah game at 8:00 p.m. on February 15th. Treynor is now 18-0 for the season after their 67-43 win last night over Shenandoah. Tonight's game is at home against Missouri Valley and next Tuesday is also a home game against Riverside. Tuesday will also be Senior Night.
1/31/18: The teams traveled to Logan-Magnolia last evening and both brought home a victory. The boys defeated the opponent 66-39, while the girls put in a heart-stopping effort to tie it up in regulation to force overtime. In OT, the Cardinals outscored the Panthers 12-6, finishing the game with a 60-54 win. Read a complete recap of the game by Omaha World Herald's Blake Baxter here.
1/28/18: Regional Pairing brackets have been released for girls. Treynor will get a first-round bye and will meet up with the winner of AHSTW/ACGC on Tuesday, February 13th at home. See the brackets here (scroll down to Region 7).
1/23/18: The teams have played a few games since the last writing and have been enjoying success at every turn. The girls won the following games: AHST on January 9th 68-25, Tri-Center on January 12th at home 61-21, Missouri Valley on the 15th 70-20, Underwood 76-37 on the 16th and Griswold at home 56-18 on the 19th. Their first loss came at the hands of 3A Sioux City Bishop Heelan on Saturday, January 20th, 55-59.
The boys remain undefeated at this point and have won the following games: AHST on January 9th 65-51, Tri-Center at home on January 12th 48-33, Missouri Valley on the 15th 76-46, Underwood on the 16th 74-46 and Griswold at home on the 19th 66-13. The boys won a nail-biter in overtime at Sioux City Bishop Heelan on Saturday, January 20th 67-65.
There are a couple weeks of regular season play left before post-season play begins. The Cardinals play at home next on Friday, January 26th. This is also the NHS Sponsored Coaches vs. Cancer event night too. Come out and cheer on the teams.
1/8/18: With the last ball game before winter break being postponed, the basketball teams had a long break from competition. The teams traveled to Riverside on Friday, January 5th and easily handled the Bulldogs. The girls had a 68-7 victory, while the boys had outscored the opponent, 78-22.
12/20/17: Treynor hosted WIC foe and potential post-season contender, Logan Magnolia Tuesday evening. The #2 ranked Cardinals defeated #4 ranked Panthers 44-41 on the girls side. The Cardinal boys team defeated Lo-Ma 69-48.
12/18/17: Treynor hosted Audubon on Tuesday, December 12th and traveled to IKM-Manning on Friday, December 15th. The boys handled The Wheelers with a 79-42 win, while the Wolves were more a challenge, but a win of 57-50 was still achieved. Jon Schwarte came through for the Cards with a double-double (15 points, 14 rebounds). Meanwhile, the girls took care of Audubon 51-14 and defeated IKM-Manning 62-46. Konnor Sudmann scored 29 points with 4 threes and was KMA Player of the Game. Kayla and Madelyn also scored in the double digits with 16 and 17 points each.
12/11/17: Both teams traveled to and defeated Griswold Friday evening. The girls team defeated the Tigers 55-16 and the boys won 70-25. Dillon Faubel and Luke Clausen led the boys team in scoring with 20 and 13 points each. On the girls side, Kayla Chapman and Madelyn Deitchler led the team with 16 points each.
12/8/17: The girls and boys basketball teams have a few games behind them and are off to a great start. The girls have a record of 4-0 with victories over Harlan on November 27th, AHSTW on November 28th, Tri-Center on December 1st and Underwood on December 5th. The boys team has played 3 games and have been victorious in all games. Their first victory was a conference win against tough opponent, AHSTW. They outscored the Vikings 61-55 on November 28th. The next victories were against Tri-Center on December 1st and Underwood on December 5th. The next game for both boys and girls is tonight at Griswold.
