2/1/17 ~ Did you know that the Treynor Jazz program has a lot of great things going on this year? Here is a rundown to get you up to speed:

The High School Jazz Band placed 1st at the WIC Festival in early January and received a Division I rating at State Contest on January 28th. This was the band's 26th consecutive Superior rating! Their next contest is the SWIBA District Festival on February 20th in Glenwood. If they place in the top two in their class, they will qualify for the Iowa Jazz Championships.

This year there are two Middle School Jazz Bands. The bands were divided up equally among the 40+ participants and the kids named their own bands. Mr. Stinman's group is called "The Professionals", while Mr. Schoening's group is called "The Chimpbandzies" . They are having a lot of fun, and are very enthusiastic. Their first performance will be at the district festival in Glenwood on February 20th.

The Jazz Choir received 2nd place and a Division II rating at the WIC Festival on January 12th. Their next performance will be at State Jazz Choir at Lewis Central on Monday, February 6th at 6:00 p.m.
