Treynor Wrestling Making Waves
2/6/17 - Sectionals were held on Saturday and the team placed 2nd (losing by just 1 point to Riverside) and will advance to Regionals on Tuesday, February 7th in Missouri Valley. This is a great accomplishment for the Cardinals and they should be commended! Competition starts at 6:00 p.m. Three men will advance to Districts on Saturday, February 11th at Underwood. Sam Gregory placed 1st in his weight class, while Kendrick Umphreys and Jayedon Thiel placed 2nd. Good luck to all the grapplers as they wrestle their way to state. 1/23/17 - Wrestling at Colfax-Mingo Saturday was successful for the Cardinal Grapplers. Sam Gregory and Chase Reber were Champions and Jayedon Thiel was runner-up. Kendrick Umphreys brought home the bronze and Mitchell Lutz earned 4th place. Dinsmore and Hass earned 5th, while Keller, Hrasky and Mauer placed 6th. The varsity team has a busy week ahead. Tuesday, January 24th will take them to Riverside, Thursday to Coon Rapids-Bayard and Satuday to East Mills High School.
1/9/17 - The Varsity wrestlers headed to Tri-Center for competition on Saturday, January 7th while the JV wrestlers had a tournament in Logan. Congratulations to the Treynor High School Wrestlers that took home a medal:106 - Dinsmore 4th; 120- Duysen 5th; 138 - Reber - 2nd; and 182 - Gregory - Champion. The grapplers travel to Elk-Horn Kimballton-Exira Monday, January 9th and Missouri Valley on Tuesday, January 10th.
12/12/16 - The Cardinal Wrestlers had two opportunities to compete last week and gained some victories in the process. On Saturday, December 10th, the team traveled to participate in the Lenox Wrestling Tournament. Four wrestlers made it to the podium: Sam Gregory took 1st (182), Chase Reber took 2nd (138), and Mitchell Lutz (113) & Ian Disnmore (106) both took fourth. Varsity Wrestling will take it to the mats Monday, December 12th at ElkHorn. WIC Wrestling is scheduled for Friday night and Saturday at Riverside. Come out and cheer on the men to victory.
12/5/16 - Fourteen Treynor wrestling athletes made the podium Saturday, December 3rd, at the Treynor Wrestling Tournament. The Cardinals placed 2nd as a team and contributing to the finish were points from the following wrestlers: Sam Gregory and Chase Reber both took first, while Brennon Mauer, Mitchell Lutz and Tommy Duysen took second. Taking third in their weight class were Jayedon Thiel, Jett Keller, Ian Disnmore and Nathan Nelson. Fourth place finishes went to Jacob Hrasky, Jordan Thompson and Garrett Pryor, while Kendrick Umphreys took fifth. JV and Varsity wrestlers will travel to Shenandoah on Tuesday, December 6th to compete against Shenandoah, Griswold, and Kuemper Catholic.
11/30/16 - The Treynor Wrestlers hosted a triangular on Tuesday, November 29th. The team was vicotrious over Woodbine and lost to Southwest Valley. Come out to suppor the team on Saturday, Demember 3rd as they host the Treynor Tournament.
