10/13/15 Update:
Congratulations to the cross-country teams on their efforts at the conference meet yesterday. Emma Ehmke was 22nd in the girls' junior race. In the boys' junior high race Mitchell Lutz was 8th, Jacob Keay 9th, Cainan Davidson 20th, Jake Lang 32nd, Max Hayes 43rd and Jacob Reelfs 56th. Camille Plagge won the junior varsity girls' race. Jordan Finnegan was 4th, Klara Ticer 5th and Morgan Showalter 6th. For the varsity girls Hannah Carolus was 14th, Isabelle Kudron 18th, McKayla Olsen 19th, Annika Vohs 20th, Gabby Plagge 25th, Kaylee Finnegan 31st and Emily Sutherland 32nd. The girls came in fourth as a team. Jerry Jorgenson was edged at the finish to come in second in the boys' varsity race, Taren Vacanti was 29th and Gabe Carolus was 53rd.
10/6/15 Update:
Congratulations to the cross-country teams on their efforts at Woodbine yesterday. The junior high boys were 6th and varsity girls 4th. Jacob Keay was 13th for the junior high boys followed by Mitchell Lutz in 18th, Jake Lang 39th, Max Hayes 47th and Jacob Reelfs 71st. Emma Ehmke was 29th in the junior high girls' race. Camille Plagge was 1st in the junior varsity girls' race with Jordan Finnegan 3rd and Morgan Showalter 4th. Jerry Jorgenson was 3rd in the Boy's race followed by Taren Vacanti in 31st and Gabe Carolus 65th. In the girls' race Hannah Carolus was 10th, Gabby Plagge 17th, Annika Vohs 24th, McKayla Olsen 25th, Emily Sutherland 32nd and Isabelle Kudron 48th.
10/5/15 Update:
Congratulations to the cross-country teams on their great performances at Shenandoah last Thursday. The junior high boys were 6th and the varsity girls 7th. Mitchell Lutz led the junior high boys with a 14th place finish followed by Jacob Keay in 24th, Jake Lang 27th, Max Hayes 39th and Jacob Reelfs 61st. Camille Plagge was 28th for the JV girls with Jordan Finnegan 54th, Klara Ticer 55th and Morgan Showalter 64th. In the varsity girls' race Isabelle Kudron medaled by placing 23rd with Hannah Carolus 42nd, Annika Vohs 47th, McKayla Olsen 48th, Kaylee Finnegan 52nd and Emily Sutherland 60th. Jerry Jorgenson medaled with a 5th place finish in the boys' race. Taren Vacanti was 44th and Gabe Carolus 68th. Camille, Jordan, Klara, Isabelle, Annika, McKayla, Kaylee, Emily and Taren all had personal bests.
9/28/15 Update:
Congratulations to the cross-country teams on another solid effort at Harlan on Saturday. The junior high boys were fifth, junior varsity girls eighth and varsity girls tenth. For the junior high boys Mitchell Lutz was 14th, Jacob Keay 20th, Jake Lang 51st, Max Hayes 61st and Jacob Reelfs 84th. Emma Ehmke was 39th in the junior high girls' race. Emily Sutherland led the junior varsity girls finishing 23rd, Camille Plagge 47th, Jordan Finnegan 67th, McKenzie White 68th and Klara Ticer 73rd. For the varsity girls Gabby Plagge was 39th, Hannah Carolus 51st, Annika Vohs 53rd, McKayla Olsen 54th, Isabele Kudron 61st and Kaylee Finnegan 74th. In the boys varsity race Jerry Jorgenson was 8th, Taren Vacanti 67th and Gabe Carolus 70th.
9/21/15 Update:
The XC Team competed against nine teams at the Avoca Country Club, and ran some great times. For the girls, Hannah Carolus finished 6th, Isabelle Kudron was 10th, McKayla Olsen was 12th, Gabby Plagge was 14th and Kaylee Finnegan was 22nd. The girls finished 2nd as a team. Jerry Jorgensen was first in the boys race. All runners that finished ahead of the girls and Jerry were from 3A and 4A teams.
The team has a long stretch to get some serious workouts in before their next meet on Saturday, September 26th at Harlan.
9/14/15 Update:
Congratulations to the cross-country teams on their great performances at the Lewis Central meet on Saturday. All high school runners had personal bests. The girls finished fifth as a team with Hannah Carolus and Gabby Plagge medaling by finishing 21st and 23rd, Isabelle Kudron was 29th, Annika Vohs 31st, McKayla Olsen 32nd and Kaylee Finnegan 36th. Emily Sutherland medaled in the junior varsity race by placing 17th with Camille Plagge 26th and McKenzie White 35th. Jerry Jorgenson led the the boys with a 6th place finish with Taren Vacanti 48th and Gabe Carolus 59th. For the junior high boys Mitchel Lutz was 21st, Cainan Davidson 26th, Jacob Keay 35th, Jake Lang 47th, Max Hayes 68th and Jacob Reelfs 90th.
9/11/15 Update:
Cross Country runners have been training for well over a month now, and had their first meet at Glenwood on August 29th. Freshman, Jerry Jorgenson, placed first for the meet, giving the Cardinals a leap in points. The girls were led by Isabelle Kudron in 12th place, followed by Gabriel Plagge in 19th and Annika Vohs in 27th.
Coach Slice reported that this team ran the best of any team he's ever had at Glenwood.
