Good luck to the directors and performers!
Treynor High School had two art students recently win awards for the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. This is a very prestigious competition that recognizes students with superior talent.
Bailey Roberts - Silver Key for her scratchboard piece
Lauren Kalstrup - Silver Key for her digital portfolio*
Lauren Kalstrup - Honorable Mention for her 2D portfolio
*Seniors are allowed to submit portfolios, which is a collection of 5+ pieces of work along with an artist statement. These are more challenging to win an award for because artwork is judged as a whole instead of individually (basically, every piece has to be worthy of the award). Only 7 awards were given to our region for portfolios, and Lauren received 2 of them!
